He will lead by example, on and off the ice. I know it is easy to say, but he is that guy. He is one of those rare guys that is just better than the others.

He could be a Toews-type captain. It most likely won't happen this season, or next season, but he has that kind of potential for sure.

I am not sure what you mean. As a player, I don't think JT will change anything, he has been a captain at other levels. He was nominated for the Hart last year. What did Toews bring that JT does not?

Islanders Head Coach Jack Capuano was asked what does one look for in a captain. Capuano reflexed on his definition, “You look for someone who is respected by his teammates, the organization, the community and I think John is certainly that. Someone that comes to the rink everyday looking to get better. We got some good leaders on this hockey club, but when we sat down and discussed it he is a perfect choice to lead our hockey team and we are excited about it.”

Did they REALLY sit down to discuss this?
That decision could have been made in the kitchenette while adding half & half to a cup of coffee.

Watched the presser. Snow looks like he's getting a bit thick in the waist. He's bigger than Cappy.

In all seriousness, the sooner the season starts, the better. I can't wait for opening night.
